Sex addicts
Are you reading this and wondering who these lucky guys are? Do they have any meetings? Then you definitely have to read the following lines, which will convince you this is a hard addiction.

Addiction occurs when an intense sexual experience briefly but effectively gets rid of anxiety, loneliness, depression, pain.
The mention of sexual addicion mostly triggers mischievous looks and stupid questions. In reality, it is a big burden for many individuals and people who are close to them. Addicts are not people who have a lot of sex and who are happy by satisfying their urges. They are people who do not know intimacy and cannot form real relationships.
Addiction occurs when an intense sexual experience briefly but effectively gets rid of anxiety, loneliness, depression, pain,... The person feels safe and powerful when he/she gets his/her drug - in this case sex - he/she feels that everything is under control and that the world is his/her oyster for at least a moment.
As with any other drug a crisis ensues after each act of sexual intercourse. The problems come back with new intensity.

Sex addicts do not know intimacy and cannot form real relationships.
So the trap for the vicious circle of addiction is set. This kind of addiction occurs mostly to people with a history of emotional instability, people who have trust issues and problems forming intimate relationships. The rush of adrenaline they feel during the sexual act makes them feel ecstatic and excited. The feeling is increased when there is a chance they might get caught. Because of risky sex any time and any place, which they absolutely must get, everything from their career, their family and so on suffers.
The addiction is not a problem merely because of the sex act, but because of how people feel while doing it and how it dominates and destroys their lives. Addicts love to let their imagination run wild, they are obsessed with hitting on co-workers, they love having sex in public places, they are compulsive masturbators, they pay or beg for sex, they have no sense of their own or other people's personal space. This can sometimes lead to attempting to rape someone. They molest children and animals, they make a fetish out of bodily fluids, clothes and objects, they are the biggest consumers of telephone and internet sex.

As with any other drug a crisis ensues after each act of sexual intercourse. (jlp)
We could name many cases - from tragic to comic. But no addiction should be considered ""interesting"" because the people involved are suffering and cannot help themselves. Though there are many sex addicts in our society, not many seek out professional help. You can read more about treatment options on the pages accessible only to paying members.
